Nine Pin Ciderworks Rings in the New Yearwith Exciting January Events

Pet Portraits, Tarot Cards, and Crocheting for a Cause

(Albany, N.Y.) – January at Nine Pin Ciderworks promises to be a month of fun, creativity, and community connection as the cidery kicks off 2025 with an exciting lineup of events. From drag shows to trivia nights, and craft sessions to tarot readings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while sipping on locally crafted cider.

“We’re always looking for ways to bring people together, especially during these chilly winter months,” said Alejandro del Peral, co-owner of Nine Pin Ciderworks. “This January, we’re thrilled to offer a lineup of events that celebrate creativity, camaraderie, and, of course, great cider. Whether you’re joining us for a lively drag show or relaxing with a mimosa during a tarot reading, we can’t wait to welcome you to the cidery.”

The fun kicks off on New Year’s Eve, December 31, with a Pre-Game Drag Show hosted by the fabulous Typhoid Mary from 8:00–10:00 p.m., as Nine Pin extends its normal Tuesday hours to 11:00 p.m., to celebrate in style. Guests can sip cider, and start the countdown early with flair at its cider toast at 10:10 p.m., (obviously a nod to closing out their 10th anniversary year)!

January highlights include:

Manifest & Mimosas and Live Music Night on January 4, where guests can kick-start the new year with a day of positivity from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., then enjoy an evening of tunes from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (an adjusted time so the Nine Pin staff can celebrate the holidays together.)
Nine PINGO, on January 7 and 21, is Nine Pin’s beloved twist on classic bingo, blending cider and fun for a perfect night out.
Craft Night: Paint Your Own Pet Portrait on January 9, for pet lovers to unleash their artistic side.
New Year Tarot Readings on January 11, invites guests to look into 2025 with tarot reading. Tickets are $40 and include a 15 minute tarot card reading and one 12 oz cider. These tickets are sold by time slots, and are limited.
Yarn Swap on January 16, with any purchase, patrons may enter the event and swap as much as they want with the other attendees or bring their needles and work on a new project. Nine Pin will be knitting and crocheting for a cause all winter long! Participants are encouraged to knit or crochet a hat or scarf (or a few!) to donate to Equinox, Inc., a nonprofit community organization located right here in Albany. Nine Pin will be accepting donations throughout the winter.
Music BLINGO on January 19, similar to Pingo, attendees use their music knowledge to guess the song, and if it’s on the BLINGO card, mark it down. Prizes await!
Drag Me to Nine Pin on January 23, and the fourth Thursday of every month, Nine Pin will be hosting a rotating drag event with the beautiful host, Typhoid Mary! Entry is free.
Themed Trivia on January 28, and every fourth Tuesday of the month, come out and test your knowledge on your favorite topics! Prizes include cider flights and other great Nine Pin items. Themes yet to be revealed!

With each event, Nine Pin’s newly redesigned tasting room provides the perfect setting to escape the cold and enjoy the warmth of community. Whether you’re a cider enthusiast or just looking for a fun outing, January at Nine Pin is the perfect winter warmer.
